Planner Experience

Writer: Anisha AnilAnisha Anil

Hello people! Week 2 of January 2023! Is this me overthinking or did time just go by that quickly? Either way, I hope we all choose to stay joyful 🙃 In this blog post, I will be sharing my Planner experience and again, it's in a Q&A format.

What is a Planner?

Planner, as the name suggests, is a tool used to follow a routine or have an organized schedule before you act. It could be as simple as a reminder or a to-do list to be used at work or in our personal lives. A planner can be used in various aspects of our lives. For example, a project planner to manage multiple people or processes, a budget planner to improve the budget or to keep track of needs or expenses, a wedding planner to record the checklists, etc. There are mainly two ways you can opt for using a planner: a Digital planner and a Paper planner.

Types of Planner and what did I choose?

For an on-the-go busy lifestyle, digital planners are a terrific solution. Mobile apps like Any.do, Habitica, Microsoft To Do, etc, note-taking apps like Notes, Notion, Google Keep, etc, browser-based planners, word documents, etc can function as digital planners. They’re easy to edit and access. You can set alarms and reminders using apps. Compared to digital planners, you can’t search or always edit physical paper planners easily and they also require a pen or marker. But if you're the kind of person who enjoys the experience of writing down and ticking a task off a list, then old-school paper planning is the way to go. I opted for a personal paper planner, obviously. I've been using it for two years now. You can check the following links of the highlights on my Instagram profile:

My Personal Planner experience?

This Planner waala Josh started in mid-2021 when I started binging on these YouTube channels-

I thought to give it a try and here are some of the benefits I underwent:

  • Started writing down dreams and goals

  • Everything related to anything was written in one place

  • Comparatively decluttered mind - no need to think about what should I do next

  • Practising gratitude and much more

Just a small suggestion from my end-

If you are using a paper planner or a To-do list, make sure to keep it in a place where you can see it more often. If you spend most of your time on your desk or sofa, keep it there. The more visible the planner is, the less friction there will be, and the more you will be using it.

My take

In the end, it’s all a matter of personal preference. If you need constant reminders of upcoming meetings and events, digital might be the best option. But if you enjoy the pen-in-hand experience, then physical planners are the way to go. I hope you learnt something through reading this blog.
